Liu Yang, the first Chinese woman astronaut and one of the three female astronauts in China's space program, has achieved another major goal record during her mission to the Shandong Taishan space station.

On October 17th, Liu Yang successfully completed her third spacewalk, which marked the longest duration of any Chinese astronaut on a spacewalk outside the Earth's atmosphere. The previous record was held by American astronaut Sally Ride, who spent 8 hours and 29 minutes outside the shuttle Endeavour in 1983.

The spacewalk, conducted from the Tianhe core module, lasted for over two hours and involved a total of six spacewalks, including the use of the robotic arm to install solar panels on the Taishan station. The spacewalk was also notable for being the first time that a Chinese astronaut used a robotic arm to perform a spacewalk.

"This is a historic moment for all Chinese women," said Li Jianguo, deputy director of the Space Research Institute at the Academy of Sciences of the People's Republic of China. "It shows that we have the capability to conduct long-duration missions and explore outer space."

Liu Yang's achievement marks a significant milestone in China's space program, as it demonstrates the country's ability to send astronauts into space and conduct prolonged stays in orbit. It also highlights the progress made in China's efforts to establish itself as a major player in the global space race.

In addition to Liu Yang's spacewalk, other achievements were also recorded during the mission. On September 4th, the Tianhe core module launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Inner Mongolia, marking the successful completion of China's largest spacecraft launch ever. This was followed by the installation of solar panels on the Taishan station, which was completed on September 5th.

Overall, Liu Yang's achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Chinese space program, and serves as a reminder of China's growing influence in the global space community.
